Grit Güttler
Berlín, 1969
Born in East Berlin in 1969, she studied Early Childhood Education before the fall of the Berlin Wall which ignited her desire to travel and explore the world. She lived in London, Colombia, Italy, and the United States. In Scotland, she did her university career in Latin American Studies and Languages.
She has been living in Spain since 1997, working mainly as a language teacher. In 1998, she married and later had two sons. Her passion for education and cultural exchange took her and her children to an international school in the Himalayas, where she spent two years teaching, counselling, and leading meditation sessions. She later continued this work for another two years at an international school in Canada.
In Spain, she expanded her work beyond the classroom, engaging in puppetry, children’s theatre, storytelling, and facilitating inner peace workshops for children. She continues to teach and write, weaving profound lessons into her stories.
Now settled in a small village in Galicia, she lives with her husband, their dog Shiva, and their chickens. Her work with children—and the stories she creates—aim to convey that in essence we are more than just our bodies, thoughts, and emotions. She hopes to offer children a perspective rarely found in schools, guiding them toward self-discovery, lasting happiness, and inner peace. Her ultimate goal is to help shape a new humanity, rooted in awareness and love.
