Alessandra Negri
Roma, 1979
Born in Rome in 1979, and raised at the sea side of Tuscan Maremma, Alessandra graduated in law in Pisa and thereafter spent twenty years working in Turin and then in Milan.
Nowadays she has chosen to live in green Montecarlo, in the hills of Lucca, together with her husband, her three kids and two dogs: Gerard and Rei. There she works in tourism and also creates illustrated books.
For the author, the poetry and great power of illustrated books lie in their ability to address a variety of readers at different levels.
Not only at the level of the child and the adult, but also the inner child that, with its wounds and conditioning, lives deep within the adult; as well as appealing to the bright and infinite potential that will lead the child towards its adult persona.
With the simple and thus powerful symbolism of images and word-concepts which characterise illustrated books, it is possible to communicate simultaneously to all these different readers and lead them, should they wish, along transformative paths.
