Nana & Nina
Nana y Nina son hermanas gemelas, nacidas y criadas en Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, en 1987. Aunque han decidido utilizar el seudónimo de Nana y Nina en sus obras literarias por simplicidad, sus verdaderos nombres son Joanne López Ponzio y Caroll López Beltrán. Joanne (Nana) tiene un bachillerato en Ingeniería Mecánica de la Universidad de Puerto Rico en Mayagüez, mientras que Caroll (Nina) tiene un bachillerato en Comercio Internacional, de la Universidad de Puerto Rico, en Humacao, y una maestría en Logística Marítima de Maine Maritime Academy. Ambas han estado trabajando en sus campos profesionales durante varios años, Nana en Philadelphia, y Nina entre Miami y Puerto Rico. Decidieron tomarse un tiempo aparte del trabajo para criar a sus hijos, y es aquí donde nació la idea de crear un mundo de historias bilingües. La importancia de la lectura siempre fue algo que sus padres les inculcaron desde pequeñas, y es por eso que decidieron compartir las historias creadas para sus hijos e hijas con el resto de las familias bilingües. Nana and Nina are twin sisters born and raised in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico in 1987. Although they have decided to use the pseudonyms Nana and Nina in their literary works for simplicity, their real names are Joanne López Ponzio and Caroll López Beltrán. Joanne (Nana) has a Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico in Mayagüez, while Caroll (Nina) has a Bachelor"s degree in International Trade from the University of Puerto Rico at Humacao and a Master"s degree in Maritime Logistics from Maine Maritime Academy. Both of them have been working in their respective fields for several years, Nana in Philadelphia and Nina between Miami and Puerto Rico. They decided to take a break from their work to raise their children and this was when the idea of ??creating a world of bilingual stories was born. The importance of reading was something their parents instilled in them since they were little and because of that, they decided to share the stories created for their sons and daughters with other bilingual families.
