Marta Arroyo

Graduada por la Universidad de California, Santa Barbara, donde se especializó en Literatura Española. Enseñó Educación Elemental durante treinta años, principalmente para el Carlsbad Unified School District. Desde su jubilación, Marta ha escrito dos libros bilingües para niños, La Fiesta y el Mariachi, (2007), y El Cuento de La Señora Tamales (2010). Publicó Jorge and the Lost Cookie Jar con Dayton Publishing, (2017) y Jorge y el Jarro de Galletas Perdido, (2018). 

Marta vive en la ciudad de Oceanside, California, con su esposo Juan, el gran amor de su vida. Su pasión es jugar con sus nietos. También cocina con mucha alegría para toda su familia. Hace tortillas de harina y polvorones. A veces sus nietos le ayudan. 

Además de la escritura Marta encuentra felicidad en actividades simples, como retratar a su familia y las flores en el jardín. Sobre todo, promueve la importancia de la lectura en niños de todas las edades. 

Graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, majoring in Spanish Literature. She taught elementary education for thirty years, primarily in the Carlsbad Unified School District. Since her retirement, Marta has written two bilingual children's books, La Fiesta y el Mariachi, (2007), and The Story of Señora Tamales (2010). She published Jorge and the Lost Cookie Jar with Dayton Publishing (2017) and Jorge y el Jarro de Galletas Perdido, (2018). 

Marta lives in the city of Oceanside, California, with her husband Juan, the love of her life. Her passion is playing with her grandchildren. She also cooks with great contentment for her family. She enjoys making flour tortillas and Mexican Wedding cookies. Sometimes her young grandkids help. 

In addition to her writing, Marta finds joy in simple activities like taking photos of her family and the flowers in the garden. Most important she promotes the importance of reading for children of all ages.
